Hard Drive Wiping

SEAM’s data erasure services allow customers to utilize existing equipment and reduce capital expenditures by securely wiping devices and redeploying them back into the workforce. This prevents the procurement of new devices to perform functions that could be handled by existing assets.

When hard drives and solid state drives are wiped, data is completely overwritten with 0’s or 1’s to safely and securely allow the drive to be reused. SEAM verifies complete data erasure by performing quality control checks using forensic software to detect data on processed hard drives. Data erasure processes are also validated continuously by independent parties according to SEAM’s certification and procedure requirements.

Data Erasure Standards

SEAM’s third-party audited processes and industry recognized sanitization software ensures complete erasure of data. In compliance with Revision 1 of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication Series 800-88, data erasure software used meets or exceeds the current standards used by the U.S. Department of Defense.
