SEAM Certified
As the only certified provider in the Dakotas, SEAM holds the premier certifications required to provide responsible and secure ITAD services. Under these certifications, SEAM is subject to annual onsite audits by independent accredited professionals along with random, unannounced audits by certifying bodies. Internal audits are also conducted annually.
Every one of our standards is in place to provide our clients with the confidence that all of their equipment will be processed to the highest environmental, security, and ethical standards possible.
Why Certifications Matter
NAID AAA Certification® verifies secure data destruction and compliance with all known data protection laws through scheduled and surprise audits by trained, accredited security professionals, fulfilling customers’ regulatory due diligence obligations. Certification is globally recognized and enforced by the International Secure Information Governance & Management AssociationTM (i-SIGMA®).
SEAM achieved NAID AAA Certification in 2022 for onsite hard drive and solid-state device destruction, facility-based hard drive and solid-state device destruction, and facility-based hard drive and solid-state device overwriting (Note: SEAM is not certified for Paper/Printed Media destruction):

R2 (Responsible Recycling©) Certification
The Sustainable Electronics Reuse & Recycling (R2) Standard was developed by an EPA multidisciplinary group and is overseen by the nonprofit Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI). It provides a common set of criteria to recognize, evaluate, and monitor responsible electronics reuse and recycling practices. Requirements include environmental protection, worker health and safety, data security, and test, repair, and reuse operational controls to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the operations through downstream vendors.
SEAM was initially certified to R2:2008 in 2013 and has maintained and updated certification to date.
The e-Stewards Standard for Ethical and Responsible Reuse, Recycling, and Disposition of Electronic Equipment and Information Technology was developed by the Basel Action Network (BAN), a nonprofit organization focused on eliminating hazardous and illegal e-waste export, landfilling, and forced child labor. Supported by the EPA, it is known as “the cleanest, most globally responsible standard for e-waste recycling” and forbids transboundary movements of non-functioning IT assets to underdeveloped countries.

ISO 14001 is a voluntary International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification that establishes an organization’s environmental management plan. The certification provides tools to identify and control an organization's environmental impact and continually improve their environmental performance.

Formerly known as OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 is the internationally recognized method of assessing and auditing occupational health and safety management systems, proving to staff, suppliers and clients that health and safety is taken seriously.

ISO 9001 sets out criteria for a quality management system and aims to improve the quality of products and services of an organization to consistently meet customer expectations.
